Question Cluster and climate control LCD fix?

Surfing Ebay and found that some guy is selling info about how to fix the LCDs on the guage cluster and AC.
His email is ALEVIT@YAHOO.COM
Anyone know this guy or tried it?
I think I'm gonna email this guy and ask but wanted to know if this guy is on here or not and if anyone know him/her.

That would be great! What is the TSB #, please? And how can we get our hands on one?

Thanks,

Post Instrument & console lite problem.

Had problems with my '94 and finally had dealer fix it by replacing the circuit boards (2). $900. for parts and $200. for labor. I had them give me the old boards in the hopes that someday in some way I could find a fix. MY opinion was that from the on again off again lites that was caused by a weak little 2.00 item. Good luck!

Lightbulb LCD

I just bought an 91' LS400 with the green backlight missing on the LCD. I went in to oen up the control panel and found that the lights on the left side were burned out. Dealer had them for 4 dollars a piece. Light up green all the way across now! Hope this helps.

Just to make sure I understand this correctly, you could not read the clock and temperature on the display before, but after replacing the lights you can now? Or was it a different symptom?
I have a 91 and I can not read my clock or Temp unless it is a very sunny day and the dash "bakes" for a while.

Thanks,

On mine I couldn't see the display at night, only during the day. the problem was the back lighting wass not uniform all the way across.

I see. It sounds as if you didn't have the same problem I do. My display appears to have black dots all across the front but it is still lit green from behind.

Anyway, glad you got yours fixed. I will keep looking for a solution for mine. I may eventually give up and send it off to Mikado to get fixed.

Thanks,

GA400

Default You are gonna alove this

If you are having trouble with lights in your cluster or the speed/tach/guage needles. or the AC control LED display,
you should at least call

MIKADO ENGINEERING
1435 Huntington Ave
San Francisco, CA 94080

(650) 615-9966

I asked him about replacing all the bulbs and fixing the speedo and tach needles and he quoted $175 for both of the needles and with the bulbs, it would likely be around $250. Cool huh. Hope he still does it.

Thanh,

Thanks for the tip. It is nice to know we have a local shop that can do this kind of stuff. I will definitely be heading over there to check it out in the next few weeks.

Thanks

Rich (GA400)

By the way, are you coming to the meet on Sunday?

I guess I could give a call but there got to be a cheaper way of doing this.
Thanks for the info though.
