First Lexus Ever!
Hey guys, I just recently bought my first Lexus. It's a 1992 LS400! I've been wanting this car for a long time and I just picked it up last week. It runs rough at the moment due to the IACV is kaput but i just ordered a new one and i hope that solves the ****ty idle and poor throttle response under load (Ive read a bunch of threads on here concerning the IACV and my symptoms sound familar) But with all that said, i hope to post pics in the next few days!! Thanks for letting me joining your community!

Welcome and congrats... hope that does indeed solve you're problem. If you've got the smoke at start up then you for sure have it... I just fixed that on my Dad's 93...while it was not running rough, it sure runs sweet now..

CEL = Check Engine Light, usually caused due to emissions problems. o2 sensors in the exhaust picking up that your vehicle is running too rich, too lean, your cat converters not working as well as they should, or the o2 sensors themselves breaking. Get a code scanner and see what code is causing the light, then you can research the code number to see your car's issue.

For a 1992. you don't need a scanner, just a paper clip and these instructions:
