Default Max spacer on factory studs?

I'm looking at getting a set of spacers for my temp wheel setup to get it a little more flush. Just curious about the max size spacer that is safe to run on the factory studs? The wheels I have now have a very weak offset, and I figured some spacers would help out a little.

5mm is the max you can run on stock factory studs. i'd stick with 3mm just to be safe.

the fronts and rears look like they'll need more than just a 5mm though.. i'd use a measuring tape and go from there.

Ok so 5mm is the max. Thats the type that just sits in between the wheels and rotor, right?

If I wanted to go bigger (say 15mm) I would have to get the type that bolts to the stock studs, and then you bolt the wheel to it, right?

Yeah that's one way to do it. I think you can also buy extended studs to replace the factory ones to run bigger spacers as well.

It actually depends on the wheels you are running as some have thicker mounting points than others. Basically you want to have at LEAST 3-5 turns or more to be sure it won't back off (i generally recco 5-7).

Generally speaking a 3mm is safe, but you should always check thread engagement.

I see what your saying PD, I'll have to check the thickness of the wheel itself first.
