the coilovers already come with preload out of the box. if you want to go stiffer w/o adjusting the damping what you do is you increase the preload. it is essentially compressing the spring further which equals more tension and stiffness.
what you do is you bring the collar, located directly below the spring, upwards to compress. it will be difficult to spin due to the tension already there, and bringing it up will add even more tension. there is a better way to adjust the preload but that requires the coilover to be out of the car and taken apart.
