Anybody try waterless coolant? What has been your experience?

I have heard of this and it sounds cool. No pun intended. Just the thought of opening your rad cap when the engine is hot and no chance of being burned. Sounds like the classic blend could be okay for us. You can be the first to try and report back.

 

I'm fine and happy with the OEM cooling system. So no, I never even thought about this.

 

seen this stuff, but our cars are too new in my opinion.

the OEM coolant is designed to not only cool our engines but to also lubricate the water pump, which has seals and a plastic impeller. the longer term effects of this "new stuff" to these parts is unknown, and i wouldn't risk it. this is why toyota is very specific in having us utilize the OEM red coolant.

 

waterless cooling is a bad plan - perhaps if it was strictly a drift car or something, only used on the track, then fine - but for a daily driver I would stay as far from that idea as possible

toyota red coolant and distilled water is fabulous and keeps your cooling system lasting almost forever!

 

As my first comment states , I am looking for an opinion of someone that has actually used the stuff not opinions from people who have not used it therefore there opinion is utterly worthless and a waste of my time.

 

the odds of finding someone who actually used this stuff around here is very slim to none...
