haha jkjk,

I too would recoment a 98+ but considering the op is working with a 96 and due to the fact that alot of 98+ body parts wont fit a 95-97 I would choose the 95-97 ucf21 if cost is not an issue.
SpencerT, thank you for your opinion. I think the UCF21 is the better deal as well and it has a wood grain steering wheel, air suspension, exhaust, turn signals in the mirrors, etc,etc.... I think this is the way to go. I will have to post some pictures once I have it delivered to my house.

Sorry everyone, here are a few pics of the cars I was considering. After talking to the wife she is not hip on me getting them and so I think my dream is lost. She is afraid that after I get parts off of the car I choose that I will not be able to sell off the rest. Since I cannot sell anything in here she is right. And I do not think I can get rid of the car for much and since the cost of junking is pretty high I will probably just lose at every turn. Thank you for your inputs though and here are some pics of the cars I was looking at buying. Sorry I did not post these earlier.

I will continue my journey and continue talking to the wife. Maybe things will change later

The first two pictures are the UCF20 and the next three are the UCF21. Both of these cars are '97 Celsiors.

last 3 pics are '98 model year. made in late '97.

UCF20/21 are not model year or submodel designations, they simply designate vehicle packages (usually with air suspension=21, w/o =20)

PD, Is that becasue the vehicle has a VVT-i motor? Would I be able to get the parts off of this vehicle to use on my 96' Lexus?

I have been reading your feeds and know the difference between the UCF20/21 because of your feeds. So thank you for all of the great information.

That front and rear end along with the vvti engine and newer transmission and updated interior mark it as 98-00. Major suspension stuff is interchangeable.

Default Ucf21

Ucf 21 for sure. Over a second faster, better mpg, and all around a better car. I have a 99(my second one), and 02 now and the 99 I will drive first with no question. Plus, with the HIDs the car looks more modern. And if you are into performance the K@N air filter trick does work. I run 5.9 to sixty, and 14.2 down the quarter from synthetic oil and K@N. Best car I every bought.

your '99 is probably a UCF20, especially if it's in Texas.....

Default Not sure about that...

It looks like the one they call UCF 21. I have had 2 so I'm pretty sure its the 290 hp + 5 Speed joint. I have seen on Lexls.com that they refer to it as UCF20 II or something to that effect. As long as it has THAT MOTOR AND THOSE FACTORY HID's, it's the one I want.

UCF20= '95-00 LS400 without Air Suspension (standard)
UCF21= '95-00 LS400 WITH Air Suspension (and/or Rear seat massage package in japan/Europe only)
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...signation.html

you can have a '99 with coil springs be a UCF20 chassis code (mine, for example) and have a '96 with the factory air suspension be a UCF21 (nearly bought one lol).

all '95-00 share the same basic chassis, hence they share the UCF2x chassis code. what you're referring to is a post Minor Change (aka MC~) UCF2x LS400.

I am glad that we are learning from one another in this forum. I am still confused if everything will fit. You sya the Suspension parts, but what about other parts, i.e. Headlights, Front Bumper, Rear Bumper, and some of the interior pieces that seem to look very much the same.

'95-00 use many interchangeable (but often slightly different in terms of setup) suspension components, interiors have a lot of similar components but a lot of important differences. Though in theory at least most of it should interchange.

complete front ends are interchangeable '95-97 and '98-00. (meaning hood/bumper/fenders/headlights/turns/fogs/corners/bumper covers/grill) but not bits and pieces.
