help its cold and raining! lcd fine, cig lighter fine, unit still off?
I have a 1st gen ls and my ac unit is not working. As stated the screen is blank not even lighting up. At first I was thinking the common black'd out lcd but its not.(used a friends working lcd to make sure same problem.) I checked the kick box fuse on the driver side which are all fine. My aftermarket radio works. Any ideas? Its hailing and raining hard in cali. Much appreciated.
To add I didn't replace anything as well like the alternator or etc because I have heard of a certain situation causing that problem.

so when you plugged in your friend's known-working unit, it still is blank?
i would check the fuses in the engine bay as well. you will need to pull out the fuse and inspect, maybe even use a meter across to make sure it's not really blown. there could be a small hairline crack on the fuse.
