Default 1st LS?

Hi guys. Im new to the site. I have an opportunity to get a 93 ls for 1500. Its got 203k on original motor and tranny. Has a new ecu. It needs a major tune up, dist caps, brakes And sensor replacements. I only have 2500 to spend and thats including price of car. Would you pull the trigger?

maint history? any major issues/leaks (incl. those that are common, you can find by searching)? Body damage? Clear title? Good tires?

if you can answer those questions with "yes, no, no, yes, yes" respectively, then go for it.

When was the timing belt last changed? I know the kit (that includes the pulley and water pump) is $340. Its something I always factor in when purchasing a old or high mileage car.

If your total budget is $2,500, then this car is not for you. Even if you are a mechanic, $2,500 is not enough based on your description above.

In addition to your list of maintenance items above, typical problem areas are: instrument cluster, power steering and rack (look for leaks), old worn out suspension components.

Good luck.
