Power steering help!
Ok......I had a leaky pressure line for about a month. Really slow. I had to add a tad about every four days. So today I decided to replace it. It was awesome, job went smoothly. Not a single leak after I finished. However, after I drove about 1/4 mile it started getting really stiff. First thing I thought.....maybe I overfilled it. So I took the cap off and it started working well again, turned the wheels back and forth a few times (smooth) I went in for about 20 mins. I tried to go run an errand and it wouldn't turn at all......like NO power steering at ALL!!! No growling No noise No leak No steering. Any advice would be great!!
i just bought a 97 ls400 today and i think i gotta replace my ps pump as well. maybe your pump was bad or it could be air in the lines maybe. ill ask my boy tom. that works on them and get back to you. good luck
possible but unlikely. more likely that there's a fat bubble in the system. bleed as other posts describe
