Thanks for the info. I have a 92 LS 400; was wondering about the air flow on that body type.

I had an extensive argument with some guys on other board that LS4 has better aerodynamics them some sports cars. That article is a real good read.

I bought the book on the history of Lexus called:

"Lexus, The challenge to create the finest automobile" by Brian Long.

I ordered it off Amazon. The book has the complete history of each model up thru year 2000, engineering goals, wind tunnel info etc. For example each Lexus model has over 50 trips thru the wind tunnel, every part of the car is designed from this data, the outside mirrors, the front airdam, headlights etc. The underside of each Lexus is where most of the drag is reduced. The stainless exhaust is recessed into the body, and wind fairings are added to the axles, and other parts under the car to reduce drag. Even the inside of the fender well is designed to vent air at high speed! They show pictures of engines running on test stands with the exhaust pipes glowing red hot! They built almost 1000 V8 engines over a 6 year time frame, and attempted to destroy each one and then improve the next one, and so on.
Many things are done, that no manufacturer has ever done before to make Lexus what it is. They even take pictures of each rear differential during assembly to log the tight clearance between the gears. This book has made me fall more in love with Lexus than I would have ever imagined!

Don't let your wife catch you alone with that book...

I saw that book available when doing a manual search. Sounds very cool. May need another coffee table book... oh yeah, that would mean I need to buy a coffee table...
