i believe there is a different sensor that the PCM uses. This is the sensor to change. The gage uses it's own sensor.

There are some writeups so do a search.

you mean i need to change the ETC sensor? would a malfunction ETC sensor cause the car's rpm to fluctuate differently accordingly to the weather? what i mean is for example, during the day when its sunny, my car's rpm would be at 400 at red lights while in drive, but at night when its dark and a little colder, my rpm would stay at 600 at red lights in drive instead of 400.

I calculated by hand with the car odo.
Good point for the vacuum coz the breaks feel little funny
Thx

OP-how do you drive? if you are driving at high rate of speed in hot weather with the AC on, consistently, then that's the mileage you're going to get.

I don't drive with much thrust and big acceleration and i use the cruise whenever possible

The temp gage rises within seconds from starting
I persume this means the sensor is doing fine and the tailpipes are crystal clear

I'm not sure that's the vocabulary that Lexus uses, but GM uses powertrain control module (PCM).

It could be a vacuum leak in the intake ducting so that air is bypassing the MAF. The O2 sensors detect a lean condition and start dumping fuel.
