Default Nakamichi sub upgrade

I think I know the answer but no way to be sure without double checking!

Could I replace my Pioneer sub with a Nakamich one? I honestly think the answer is no as I've heard connectors are different and the Nak amp controls things the pioneer one doesnt.

My sisters 96 has Nak and my 98 is Pioneer and the bass from the rear is about the same but with her car you feel it in the seats and up front where mine is just the back. I love me some bass but I refuse to put in a box; not my style.

My buddies dad has a 06 with Mark Lev which he might sell in a couple years. Guess I'll have to buy that ;0. What is funny is my buddy has a 08 GS with stock and his dad has an 08 LS with Mark Lev and it's about the same thing. Same bass but with the upgraded system you feel it more all over versus in the back.

I wonder if getting my sub re-coned would do anything?

Trying to use OEM parts is a waste of time/money... go aftermarket...

Is there a sub I could use as a replacement instead of mounting a box/what not for everything else? Plug in play would be winning for me. I like to keep the trunk space as much as possible.

Search... this has been discussed many times but I do not think there is a plug and play drop in... with a little work you could certainly manage to reuse the mounting space on the rear deck but you would need a new amp... If you have never done a stereo install this is not a good project to learn on. You might want to take it to a shop.

This is an improvement over stock. I have an extra speaker just like it if you want it let me know and we will try and work something out.
