93 LS400 Depot Lvl MX accomplished (TB/WP 130k mi)
My 1993 LS400 was due a little maintenance. Purchased with 85k mi. At 85k changed all fluids, 100k lower ball joints, 110k installed KYB struts, everything else was original equipment. Nothing was giving me problems except the leaking PS pump. So at 130k I decided it was time for a little preventative maintenance (last week).
Parts Changed:
Timing Belt
Water Pump
Cam seals
Crank seal
Tensioner
Both Bearings
Plugs
Wires
Distributor Caps
Rotors
Temp sensor
Thermostat
Throttle Body Cleaning
Valve Cover Gaskets
Spark Plug Tube Gaskets
Power Steering Pump
High Press PS Line/hose
Front Brake Pads (did not need them)
Cleaned and replaced anything/everything that looked like it needed it.
After all this started right up with only one issue...Rt side Valve cover was leaking. After redoing it three times I realized I cracked the cover when changing the Spark Plug Tube Gaskets not allowing the rt aft corner to seat properly. So I bought a used SC400 valve cover and redid it one more time. I think after doing it four times I could do it blind folded in under an hour.
The funny thing is after all this work the car acts/feels/drives exactly like it did prior to the work, go figure. I guess I'll keep it another 130k mi and re-evaluate.

Took about three FULL days +. That was taking my time with everything to ensure it was done right. Im sure I could do it all agin in half the time, learning curve.
The PS pump was leaking externally, did not want to fry my alternator so I changed pump and lines (i figure it was time). Im glad I did it all myself, now I know that much more about my car, which is built extremely well IMO.
