My Corner Light Fell off! on my new 97!
I just bought a 97 ls400, it was owned by a service manager at lexus and had very detailed service records, clean car, so it was very surprising driving yesterday when i hear somwthing fly under the car on the fwy and go tumbling behind me. When I stopped to see if i hit something i found this!
will this do? and do i need anything else? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEXUS...Q5fAccessories

that will do, you will need a small screw to secure it in and possibly the little plastic inserts that clip into their respective female ends (if what you ordered doesnt come with them). Id also check and make sure the bulb assembly is still in there and didnt get ripped out.
double check the other side!

Whomever had the car prior didn't know how to remove the corner light and snapped the two prongs and the guide tab. The plastic tabs are easily broken so once loose, pull straight forward. Wiggling side to side is a no-no. The prior owner did same to mine and I discovered it while changing the bulb out.
Let me know what price you get, I want to replace one of mine as well.

Broken tab
I realize this doesn't exactly apply to the OP since he's actually missing a corner light, but I read in another thread that Lexus has an OEM 'tab repair' kit for these corner lights, but I can't find any listing for it or a Lexus p/n. Anyone ever heard of this? P/N?

OP,,,,really just sounds like one of 2 things. The light has to be removed in order to change the bulbs and/or take the headlight out(for whatever reason). Sounds like the tabs were worn or just broke and was not discovered. It happens (tabs breaking/wearing). Bulb might have been changed and the securement screw might have been forgotten to be placed back in. Good gust of wind hits it at the right angle and bye-bye light. Just check to make sure that the wiring and bulb that is suppose to be there didn't disappear with the light. If intact, then the replacement you found will do just fine.
