Default improved gas mileage after alignment

I recently did my own alignment using the string method, straight edge bubble kit...and some homemade caster, camber, toe tool made using things i found lying around my garage and my biggest problem was my right front wheel's toe in about -5 degrees.. and the rest had some uneven camber mostly negative... so embarrassing but hey finally learned this after all the tinkering and alignment shops with different wheels put in and different suspension springs and coil overs. and also my caster was a little off...but anyways.

before i was getting poor mileage in city 16 mpg using 91 octane and 23 highway
now im getting about 20 in city and 26 in highway...WEEE

i hope thats accurate i ran it until the reserve light came on
and then put in another gallon driving city...

but on the highway i put in about 3 gallons before the light came on again so this should be as accurate as possible

5* toe is pretty bad....to the point i question how you could drive it without noticing how badly it was (or should have been, if your measurements were right) pulling to one side.

Honestly I did but since this WAS my wife's car well she never mentioned any problems except rips and stains on the carpet and we barely use it.

does excessive toe really drag your gas mileage down, same goes for caster?
