Default Removed Wood Trim Around Shift Now No Power

I can't believe I was so stupid! I am 70 year old female on a fixed so I try to do my own car and house maintenance. I have a 1999 ls400 I bought used. The cup holder has never worked properly because of debris surrounding the mechanism so when it is used drinks frequently spill.

I partially removed the wood trim around the shift in order to clean around the cup holder. I can't believe I did this because I know better but while I vacuumed and cleaned with a wet cloth the ignition was on. To get the trim off I had to put the car in gear and the alarm indicating that keys were in the car was driving me nuts so I turned the ignition on.

I stepped away from the car for a few minutes and when I returned I had no electrical power. It is as if the battery is totally dead. I am praying that I didn't fry something and am hoping I just pulled something loose!

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Warm Regards, Carol

I dont know what to tell you... but I dont think it is serious. now.. have you:
put it back in park, removed the key from the ignition, close the doors, (I am just trying to start all over) now put the key in, do your tilt & tele. work, or anything? door locks, interior lights? your battery could be just drained. sometimes it dosent take much... give that a try. you might even have to loosen your negative battery cable for a few seconds and let the system reset its self. keep us posted..

Wow Billy, Thank you so much for the quick response. Absolutely nothing works. It is a brand new battery so I don't think it is drained. I will try resetting as you described. I will let you know. Thanks
