Default Tire Size Help

just picked up some new rims for my 94 Ls400 w/stock suspension.
I dont have the money for a drop yet so im wondering what
a good tire size would be to still make my ride look okay.
the rims are 18x8
i been looking at the wheel thread so far i got
225 40 18
235 40 18
sounds about right?
I do plan on getting some drop springs so maybe drop it like 1-2"

Stick with OEM tire sizing without a drop. Smaller tires are only going to increase the wheel gap and make things look worse.

225 40 18 will look stupid unless you are lowered or lowering it next week. I run 225 40 18 on my old wrx and currently on my mazda 3 hatch they fill up the wheel wells but both could use a 1" - 2" drop to look right. The ls400 is going to be a much much much bigger wheel well and will look empty. I would suggest 235 50 18, they will still look great when you lower the car at a lower date.
