Lwb!?
Hi, I saw mention in the recent post on Jag Vanden Plas picnic tables of a "standard wheelbase vs. long wheelbase". I was under the impression that there was no such distinction in the LS400 or LS430 - not until the LS460-L in 2007.
Is there such a thing as a LWB LS400? Both of our M-Bs and our Jaguar are long-wheelbase. It certainly helps with 2 kids in car seats - to help avoid their ability (albeit for a discrete and relatively shot period of time) to reach the back of our seats with their feet...

There were auto magazine rumors in the mid-1990's that a long wheel base "LS500L" with the 5-liter V12 engine from the Toyota Century was going to be sold along side the LS400. That of course never happened and I never read anything about a long wheelbase Celsior being made for the Asian market.
That said, a number of car manufacturers have long made extended wheelbase versions of their cars for the Chinese market. Just look at the attached photo of the rear seat area of the Chinese market BMW 5-series which has the normal wheelbase extended by 5 1/2 inches. For China, Volvo has a long wheelbase S80L, Audi sells a long wheelbase A4L, etc.
