Question Deflating Suspension

New member! Glad to see there's a place Lexus owners can share info.

My '91 LS 400 rear suspension is deflating at times. It doesn't happen all the time, but several times a week once stopped I can hear the air quickly releasing from the rear suspension causing the body to lay low on the tires.

What causes this and how can it be fixed?

Thanks!

Most common problem is a leaking air shock. Very expensive to replace. When the suspension sinks, does it lean to any one side?

Thanks DevilDog!

When the rear suspension deflates it doesn't lean to one side or the other. Both sides deflate and both sides sink.

It doesn't happen all the time, however. Possiablly 50% of the time will it deflate.

What do you think?

I would replace both rear shocks. Again, they are expensive!

Good Luck!

Default Deflating suspension

Mine is only dropping on the passenger rear. No hiss and it takes a long time. I find if I put the car switch onto Ride Heigth "high" before I park it, it does not deflate when I come back the next day. The shock price for the rear was $460 from my dealership. Is this normal pricing others have seen? Has anyone had one of these problems checked out by a dealership before replacing the shocks?
