Default PS fluid

What PS fluid are you guys running these days?

I'd been using M1 but with one component of the fluid being illegal in CA, it isn't available. IDK if there will be a reformulation for CA... Suxx, I had several bottles and to complete the drain I need a bit more but...nada

My next best is to pour in the Type IV but some hints at compatibility exists so I'm not 100% on the mix.

Why can't you use Type IV, I thought it was compatible?

type-iv is NOT the right fluid for the power steering.

i'm witholding my fluid flush for after i rebuild my rack (leaky seals, nothing too serious yet thankfully) but plan on using backstocked M1 trans fluid or giving up and running royal purple or Redline (must be Dexron/Mercon spec).

I asked the parts guy FWIW at Auto Zone and although he had a shelf of other tranny fluids, he was not able to recco one that he felt was comparable to M1. M1 has been off shelves now for some months

From other car forums, peeps have been buying this stuff up when they find it or going outside of CA to get it.
