Default 1997 LS400 Coach Edition Pics. 56k beware

Finally got the pictures up.

This pic just shows the scrape, the white part on the silver bumper is just reflection.
And the next picture is right below that

Bug that crawled in and died while I was taking pictures

From a distance, it looks very clean. In fact, it IS very clean, but it has many blemishes that could be touched up.

What's with those "COACH EDITION" decals? They look like they were drawn on with a sharpie! (My CE doesn't have those.)

Looks great!

Not sure I'm still trying to figure that part out. Looks like the logo was hand laid.
Or maybe a "dealership special"
Yeah I gotta touch up the blemishes, which means paint and body work, of which I hate ugh.
Any tips? Particularly for that nasty gash on the side....

Any tips? DON'T cheap out with body repair. I've tried to repair cosmetic things myself with disastrous results.

a decent find, potential to be very clean once you get those body issues sorted out. our '00 has the trademark garage door lines in the rear bumper too

No its not a cockroach, its a June bug. Looks like a beetle, sort of an orange copper color. Common around here during the summer

That bug is HILARIOUS! It's last thought: "Well I'm going to die, but at least I'm dying in a LEXUS".

BTW, shame on your for detailing your interior with insecticides.

Nice.

The hand painted Coach Edition seems kinda odd though. The '96 ES Coach Edition had silver plates on the front quarters...those were nice badges when I think of it. The CE trunk lid emblem on the LS was so-so IMO.

Haha the more I look at the bug, looks kinda happy in a way, not like a grotesque dead bug but funny looking dead bug pose.
And you would think a bug would move away from the high heat source....

And now I'm stuck wondering about the CE....
Looking online, the 97 LS CE had more leg room (supposedly, but then again read somewhere that it was a normal LS with special stuff), Coach leather inside, special coach floor mats, coach badge inside and on the trunk.
Oh and special colors for the interior and exterior. The car I know is the Jade Metallic Green color.
I have the badging on the trunk and the carpets but nothing inside on the car. And the painted "Coach Edition"....hmm......
Maybe it was added by the dealership originally as one of those forced buys.
Any way to decode the VIN on the car? I searched online and nothing too useful, just how to decode where its from, RWD and model then just the numbers.
Maybe I have an ultra-rare Coach Edition!

Or maybe I have a fake

Just checked and there is more legroom in the back. At least from what I can remember....

The Coach Edition does not have more legroom. Your armrest should have an embroidered "COACH EDITION" on it (on the sides). The Coach Edition also has perforated leather.
