Default Dash Care

Greetings. New member with 1995 LS400, which I recently purchased. Love the car and have found the forum most interesting. I have leather conditioner and cleaner, but I was interested to know how most of you attend to the front dash. I don't believe that the dash is leather and I'm curious what the best cleaner and conditioner would be to use. I don't want to apply anything that would encourage sun damage. Many thanks.

Lexol products are rated one of the best.

Find it at Pep Boys.

Default Lexol Products....

I had a similar question..my 92 LS has the first little sundamaged crack starting...there is no Pep Boys here, but found this reviewat autogeek.net...ordered a bottle for mine: (this is not an ad for them, I haven't tried it yet, but sounds like what I am looking for)

"Lexol Vinylex has one of the strongest UV screens available. It cleans and renews any vinyl, rubber or plastic surface. Protect your bumpers, tires, dash and vinyl tops. Just spray on--then wipe off, it's that easy.

Vinylex Protectant is a patented formula for the care and preservation of vinyl, rubber and plastic surfaces. It is a state of the art protectant that combines cleaning, protection and beautifying properties in an easy to use one-step product. It actually penetrates below the surface layer to restore the underlying plasticizers. Of the five patents that govern silicone protectants, Vinylex carries two of them.Lexol Vinylex has one of the strongest UV screens available. It cleans and renews any vinyl, rubber or plastic surface. Protect your bumpers, tires, dash and vinyl tops. Just spray on--then wipe off, it's that easy."

Hope it works...I don't want my dash to crack off in the heat of Kentucky..Capper

Thanks, the leather cleaner/conditioner is a Lexol product as well. Will pick-up some and buy a sun shade for dash as well.

Default leather...

I haven't tried their leather stuff either...however, I just bought and used "Leather Magic" cleaner and conditioner on mine (don't you hate those catchy names?), and was happy with the results...no change in color, and worked pretty well....good luck, capper

Vinylex is the product you want, it's made by Lexol.
