Bought a 96 for parts (for 95), engine and air struts were shot but everything else great. But decided to rescue it instead and found a same year engine with 46K miles in San Diego ($550 free delivery and no core exchange), and another $500 to put in. Found the engine on Car-parts.com. Here are some photos.

Photo 1 and 2 are the donor engine (when junk yard pulled it out).
Photo 3 and 4 are us checking starter and doing timing belt.
Photo 5 is the end result.

Car is now running great with a 46K mile engine and on new Bilstein struts in front and Arnott rebuilt in the rear (plus new bushings and tires). Not cheap but better than any $30K new cars today.
