Check engine AND TRAC light blinking with bad miss....
On Monday I made the mistake of pressure washing the top surfaces of my engine on my 1997 LS400 with 110K miles, and the next day drove about 200 miles with no problems. Yesterday night I was waiting for my son outside his little league practice and let the car idle for about 30 minutes while I was waiting. When I went to leave, the car started missing badly and seconds later the check engine light and TRAC OFF light began blinking (both)....
First, can anyone tell me the method for checking codes?
Any ideas what is going on?

Pretty sure atuozone can pull the code and tell you what it is for free or bring it back here and tell us. You are probably going to have to find all the electical connections under the hood take them apart and dry them off.

Problem solved... Water had seeped past the sparkplug boot and down into the plug tube on the #5 and #7 cylinders on the back of the left side of the engine. Dried it out, disconnected the batt to clear the codes, and it runs great.
Lesson learned. It's just not worth the potentional trouble to have a dust-free engine.
