Lossed Power Help!
So I was driving to on the freeway then stopped momentarily at a friends house. When I got back into the car I started driving and the check engine light came on. I suddenly lost power when I would try to accelerate then it would jump to normal power. I drove home about 15 miles then turned the engine off.
I tried to re-start it and it started with a rough idle then shutdown....I know without the error code it's hard to know but anyone have any possible ideas what it could be.
I bought it in November and it had a new tranny put in June 2009 and is still under the year warranty....ideas? HELP PLEASE!

First, pull the code if it's your 1st gen.

Second, please try to make an effort to write more coherently.

Avalon, uh thanks?
I made the mistake of not stating which car had this problem. It was my 1997 Lexus LS400.
While I appreciate the link you have provided me in your posting reply, it does not apply to my current predicament.
Tomorrow I will have it scanned so I can get an accurate reading of the code. As was stated in my initial post, incoherently as you pointed out, I know it's hard to know without the code. I was hoping another owner of a 1997 LS400 might have some insight from a previous experience similar to mine.
I hope this has been a more "coherent" read for everyone....
