Has anyone had a detector installed, or is a windshield mounted one really the best option?

 

I installed an Escort SR-1 with the K-40 laser diffusers (both front and back). The front detector is behind the grill. The Escort display is mounted on the bottom lip of the instrument cluster directly behind the steering wheel. Blocks a bit of the trip computer and the laser speed control, but not badly.
