wheel styles
If anyone feel's up to it.Post some wheel style's that you think would look good on the Lexus ls400.. I would prefer the wheel's not to cost over 200 each.
Every car I get ,the wheel style is different.I notice most of you have expensive wheels..which I can not afford . I just need idea's as to the style

not much for 200/wheel besides keeping an eye out in classifieds or oem transplants from another car (430s look pretty good).
i can't stand seeing (obviously) cheap aftermarket wheels on nice cars, even if they are 20 years old.

thanks guys..I would have never thought of myself buying a Lexus. But I had a 5000 cash limit and everything I looked at was not in very good shape. Then a rich woman posted her Lexus on Craig's list and I thought it was too good to be true. Anything has to look nicer than the stock 15 inch rims... ..

saying goes....
gotta pay to play
doesnt necesarily mean you gotta ball but you have to have a reasonable goal with a reasonable pricetag.
if you just want some wheels to freshen up your PRE 95 LS400, then a set of 17" GS or IS wheels will be fine, and are pretty cheap normally.
you're out of budget from anything good from the aftermarket.

your ls is not a neon or any other econo-compact in any aspect. mods should fit the style of the car as well as your personal style.
i usually offer this piece of advice to guys tryin to get in the vip scene, but it applies to anything new really: take a little time and get a feel for what you're doing.

An ideal wheel would be a machined 19-20" full face *siiiiiiiiigh* perfect... lol
But in your case I'd say check craigslist for a set of 18" chrome 430 5 spokes. I'd love a set for myself, but I just spent almost $800 on high end tires, so I'll be driving those into the dirt! haha

Just be patient and spend some time on craigslist and on kijiji and eventually something nice will show up. I was on a budget myself but after a few weeks I found some good stuff because I moved on them immediately after I saw them. The guy with the rims had 6 other calls about them.
I found me some 18's from an RX for $600CA (he got 18's from a newer RX) and 6 practically new tires from another seller for $100 (he was upgrading to 19's on his RX8 and was just offloading).
Just be patient and keep your eyes open.

Or you could take out a small loan to cover part or all of the expense of new wheels/tires. That's what I did
Also, check some vendors here on the forums. They usually have wheels cheaper than other places online. Got my MRR GT1s through B2 Auto Designs for a few hundred less than other online retailers.
And trust me, on these boards, anyone wanting any kind of "tuner" style wheel will be shot down 99% of the time.
But hey, it's YOUR car, so do whatever YOU think will look good
