Clicking in Rear? What could it be?
I have a 93 ls 400
and Ive had this problem for a while but I never asked on here for any of your input.
Its a clicking sound whenever I accelerate from a stop.
or when I put the car into drive or even reverse.
has anyone ever experienced this?
My mechanic said it could possibly be the axles in the rear.
at first he thought it was a caliper but when he checked, it wasnt that.
any input or experiences would be great. thanks

I have a similar noise, but in my case I need to replace all of my motor mounts. My mechanic also told me that I need a new bushing on my differential. Hopefully that solves my problem.

Clunk
I had a "clunk" sound when I gave it the gas 91 LS400 When the speed reached about 40 the sound went away. In mine, if the car was coasting, no noise, or if I gave it gas very lightly. I found in my case the Driver side axlewas the problem. I called Lexus and asked the price for replacing it. They said driver side $700, passenger side $800 (harder to get to). I purchase an entire rear end (differential and axles for $200 from a junk yard, and replaced the entire works (need two people to do it, unless you have a hoist). Works great now have 345K miles on it.
