my 98 has 2 noises that are driving me slightly crazy. something chimes when I first get in once and then I don't hear it again, it is a few seconds after I start it, sometimes it takes a minute or two.
the second is some kind of metal or hard plastic that is tapping against something when the sunroof is closed.
please help!

I have a LS400 '98 too. I have a rattle when the sun roof is closed, however I find that is goes away with the internal sun roof shield is opened a couple of inches. I have yet to locate the issue.
