Oxygen sensor 95 LS
Check engine light come on late last summer.Went to verify the code today(also verified last summer), and it read P0156, P2272 P2273.How much does a faulty oxygen sensor affect mileage and performance?
I have been putting off replacing the sensor because of the cost.
Anyone know of a reputably place to order it from on line, be it used or new?The less expensive, the better.
Thanks

it greatly effects both power and efficiency.
cost isn't bad at all, ~$130 if you diy with an OEM part, maybe $50-70 if you diy with a universal denso sensor and solder & heatshrink the wires on.
l-tunedparts.com for OEM, ebay for denso

I just bought universal denso sensors for my 95LS from Rockauto.com. Do I really have to Solder the sensors. I've been told by a few trustworthy mechanics that as long as you follow the instructions you dont have to solder. The insructions on the Denso sensors do not indicate to solder, but to just clamp the wires and then use the heatshrink afterwards.

I dont know; I want to make sure this is done correctly.

"clamping" (
did you mean crimping?) the wires will have you redoing the job soon enough...just solder the wires onto the oem connector (chop it off the dead O2 sensor) and it becomes plug and play!
