The mount is shot which has been mulitipled by not using the parking brake.
I bought a mount also and it cost me $60 in Canada.

Default Have changed the trans mount now

The trans mount has now been changed. The car behaves better now. It's not a dramatic difference but still worth the money. The car still jerks a little bit when changing in and out of drive and reverse. But less then it was before. Maybe I have to flush the transmission to. The transmission fluid was a little bit brown. Changed out 5 liters at Toyota last summer. What do you think?

It's not that brown. You can still see some red tone in it. The fluid does not look that bad. It just don't look fresh. Please see the attach picture on the transmission fluid to make your own opinion.
But if I still should be worried. What can it be then. The torque converter? Know the Lextreme sells some rebuild ones that doesn't seems to be that expensive. Is it hard to change the torque converter? Planning to keep the car for a long time and even put a bullet supercharger kit on it when I have enough money.

1) Tranny Mount
2) Differential Carrier Mounts - There are 3 of them, one up front and two in the rear. If the tranny mount doesn't fix your problem, it most likely are these. The diff on my UCF20 was flopping around since all 3 mounts were toast.

Thanks for your answer. Will check the differential carrier mounts then.

Default Problem fixed

Never had to flush the transmission or buy new Differential Carrier Mounts. What I did was to adjust the transmission throttle cable, see this post: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...djustment.html

Hi All, I'm bringing this back from the dead. I have the same problem with jerking when shifting from park. I followed the guide in the above link and my throttle cable seems to be different. The rubber stopper is stationary on the end and does not move. There is a metal ball or bulge (circled in red in first picture) that is on the cable that does not move. Anyone have any idea? I can pull the rubber stopper off. Here are a couple of pictures. The first one is how it looked "normally" when I pulled the plastic over off the throttle body, the second picture is when I move the rubber stopper. TIA for any help!

My parking brake doesn't work either(never has since owning the car) and I too hear the loud thump when parked on an incline. How much would it cost to repair/install a parking brake.I am especially concerned because my LS is going to be stored for 3 months on a driveway with an incline.Would putting large cement stoppers(blocks),have the same beneficial effect as the parking brake?
Thanks
Oofer

Default 94 es300

My 94 ES300 jerks badly when I go to drive. After I reach a speed it'll stop. But I can't climb a hill from a stop. I've changed my coils and plugs. I'm out of thoughts on the matter.
