Subwoofer question?
Hi
I'm changing the complete audio system in my LS 1993 (Pioneer)
All improovements is all stock sizes. 4" front and rear. 8" sub and will of course be replaced in stock places.
My question is: Since free air subwoofers are hardly ever produced anymore, how well is the room under the sub built for an ordinary sub? I'm changing to a Rainbow Vanadium 8" sub (which isn't really a free air sub)
Thanks for any replies
Daniel

I mean, there is room, but I honestly don't think it would sound all that great seeing how the gas tank is between the trunk and the backseat....Unless you have a serious enclosure made for that sub, it would most likely sound distorted.
Others may chime in on this one as I'm no expert.
I recently took out my rear free air sub to allow for my 2 8's that I have in a custom box.
BTW - if you're free air sub is blown, I'd suggest getting another free air sub. I have another one if you'd be interested. It's in great shape.
