Default Tune up NO No and PS Fluid issue

Well, This weekend I ended up doing plugs and wires on my 1995 LS400 with 109K. Everything came off and out as I hoped. Plugs were nasty and had oil on the threads (some of them). I put new platinum plugs in and New plug wires. The only issue I had was that the plug wires were a snug fit in the cable organizer clip on the valve covers. When I put it all back together, one of the wires popped out of the cable tray and went in front of the cover bolt! Right throught the jacket when I tightened it down! It was missing big time and I couldn't figure out why, until I took it all apart again. DUH. Now it runs great and idles at 650 on the nut.

Power steering issue. I lent my car to a buddy this weekend since his was in the shop. As a payback he was going to change my PS fluid and do a trans fluid drain-refill. He used Amsoil Universal ATF in the trans, but used Amsoil Full Syn Universal Power Steering Fluid in my PS!

Is this bad for my POWER STEERING? Should I do a PS FLUID flush and use something else? Any input would be great.

Thanks,

Carl

Amsoil brands in the car are very good products. This is probably the next best thing to use besides the ATF fluid from Toyota/Lexus. These trans' are very sensative. Plan to do the same thing myself, after i change my leaking PS hoses. You should be good.

Steering is stiff today. Did that Amsoil Syn PS fluid do that?

probably, you should have used the amsoil ATF.

the steering runs on normal Mercon/Dexron ATF.

Amsoil shouldn't make any difference in the power steering the only thing that could bring up a problem did he just change it one time I awalys suck out the power steering fluid 5to 7 times and refill the pump let the car run and then empty it again and again until the fluid is good and red. you can use mobil one or dexron 3 to finish changing out the power steering if he only did it once. I change my power steering and transmission every 20,000 miles I like to use mobil one synthetic but dexron 3 will do just fine in the power steering and use toyota type 4 trans fluid if you don't want to us synthetic trans fluid don't use dexron 3 in a lexus trans.
