96 LS, creaking noise...did search
Ok, i did a bunch of searching but didn't quite find out what i needed. So here's the situation, with the car PARKED if you press down on the front suspension (in this case it's my front passenger) you will hear a pretty loud creaking noise. You can also hear it while driving as the front end compresses/uncompresses.
From what i searched, this sound could be a worn out bushing situation. My car has a little over 110k and i doubt anything has been changed. Now if my upper or lower control arm bushings are bad i did see that i could just replace the bushings, however is there anyway to get OEM bushings only? Or would i have to buy the whole arm for that? Last how much firmer are poly bushings over OEM because i realllly love the cushy ride of my LS. I'm not at all concerned about any type of performance i'd get from poly bushings, i just want the comfy cushy ride.
thanks for any help

first go check the lower ball joints and the strut bar bushings as they commonly go bad, ball joints normally give more of a "thump" than a "creak"
if it is indeed the control arm bushings then you basically need to go and buy new arms, only poly bushings are available aftermarket (unless you can find a source for australian ADUS bushings here in the US and they make bushings for the 2LS)
poly bushings ride MUCH harder, especially if they're on the control arms.
