slightly better mpg with electric fans?

I can't really see it having that big an effect...the only resistance that the fan would have against it that would use extra energy is...well the air it's pushing.
I'd love to see a valid test tho.

I find my engine more responsive to throttle since i got rid of my fan. It is also quieter and i get great mileage from mine but no before after data to show variances.

yes it iwll help. that fan is a drag on the engine, just like running the a/c. you now the difference it makes when you turn your a/c off? y ou'll get that without the belt driven cooling fan.
that's been an old hot rodding trick used for years to free up power. anything you can do to make the engine do less work to just run the car lets more power get to the rear wheels and also help efficiency (fuel mileage).
i will soon be removing the belt fan off my truck and replacing it with 2 electric fans. never really thought about it on the LS, because i'm not that concerned with power or mileage on it. maybe i will try it though. easy job so why not? and the fans are available on ebay for less than $30.
