You won't be able to move it once disabled. You don't want it to go out when it's in a bad position though.

I have a different problem with the same thing. It looks like the previous owner did work on the ignition (where you put the key in). The problem is that something isn't lined up properly.

First of all, I have to put the key in JUST A LITTLE, listen to the sound of whatever little motor, and then point it downwards in order to get it in the ignition. I have to do this because the key won't go in straight 95% of the time.

The other thing is that when I turn the key, half the time it kinda rubs up on something. It's not getting caught stuck there (thank God) but it's obviously not aligned properly. As I turn it, there's a part that I have to use a little more force and I hear a 'click' as I turn the key past that point. Any ideas? It's not a big deal but it would be nice to be able to stick the key in normally.

I also noticed a hole that someone made right above it, leading me to believe that there was a problem before.

It's a quick fix and is worth a try before embarking on a more extensive project.

I hope that this fix lasts-- if it doesn't, I'll let you know.
Thanks for the tip! Been driving around thinkin' it's just broke, so d@mn uncomfortable driving with the wheel stuck to the ceiling...smh! But pressing the down button a bunch of times quickly brought it back to earth. Thanks 👍

I have the same issue but my steering wheel will move out or in but when i try to tilt down it doesn’t make a sound and when i tilt up it clicks, i’m assuming it has something to do with a relay?
