does everyone here lower and put bling on their LS?
i can fully appreciate car modding and customization, and ive done stuff like this in the past (sunk at least 6 grand into my acura TL a couple years ago), but now i really dont like cars that are heavily modded. i think the huge VIP body kits and 20s are really over the top and sometimes tacky for a car like the lexus ls400.
my dream LS would be a stock 99-00 on Ls430 rims, with maybe 30% tints all around, upgrade sound system and add a navigation, maybe some HIDs.
im not wasting any money on engine mods, suspension, etc anymore. modding my old TL really hurt my pocket book, when i sold the car i pretty much wrote all that money off as a loss.
plus i really hate grabbing attention. i dont want every cop in my city to notice and recognize my car. i like low profile luxury. or as i once heard someone describe Lexus, "Understated Elegance".

lol, every time i buy a new vehicle, i know i'm going to lose every penny i put into it, because i can't leave anything stock.
So true - I boght a new Avalon XLS in 99 to replace my LS and spent big bucks on wheels, spoilers, etc. It was a really cool looking 1 off Avalon. When I sold it the buyer's fiance loved the mods - the buyer who was female could care less and I lost big bucks. As 19psi said though I loved driving it with the mods
Why did I buy a FWD stretched Camry to replace my RWD LS - still can't figure that one out - Momentary lapse of reason

I got it - thanks!
A bit too rich for my blood though.
Right now mine is stock. All I did for it so far was wash it this morning and shine up the rubber. Getting ready to check out some tint and paint shops. Any good recommendations here in SoCal? (I'm new here in H.B., from New Joisey) Don't want to pump a whole lotta dough in her. Thinking about $1200 for a wheel set and $1200 for paint to last me for about 3 years or so. (I only paid $2K for the car itself). I only got the car so I don't mess up my IS by throughing my surf board on top of it. (and to keep the miles low on the IS).

heavy wheels that are prone to crack/bend and paint that isnt nearly up to par as even the factory paint.
lemme put it to you this way, most of my friend's who have had their cars repainted spent upwards of $3500-5000+.......
wheels, for decent ones id budget more around the $2000/set + tires depending a little bit on the size.
go and search in the SoCal forums for shop recco's, there's a million good shops that have been recco'd...
