All automatics roll until the lock catches. I do notice on the LS that it does roll a lot. I use the ebrake to put less strain on the tranny lock, but the car still moves a bit on an incline so either my ebrake cable needs to adjusted or it's just weak.
Ah thanks for the info, I just notice it a lot more on this car than other autos I've been in. I'll start easing off the brake more slowly when I put it in park.
mine rolls. have no clue why and my ebrake is pretty strong. i can put it into drive with the ebrake on. my car wont go anywhere. but when i park it and ebrake i feel it roll -_-. so i think its something normal.
Assuming the Lexus uses the same parking setup as other auto trans, it uses a pawl or pin that sticks out into a disk with notches on it on one of the clutch packs or gear clusters. It's not an exact fit in the notches, so the car will rock a bit until the pawl or pin makes contact with the edge of one of the notches.
