Default 90-92 vs 93-94 Lights.. question.

I am about to buy an outer passenger side Marker light (clear) for my 1994 LS 400 -- They have them listed as 90-92, and 93-94 -- The 93-94 are a bit more expensive.

I think the 90-92 is identical to 93-94, but I wanted to ask you guys before I order a 90-92 light for my 94.

Thanks

Hate to rush this -- But I figure this would be an easy confirmation? Can anyone confirm this real quick for me? Or does no one know for sure.

Thanks for the effort.. I have read that Wiki page several times -

I just need a definite yes or no answer. It is saving me about $10 if the 90-92 are indeed exactly the same as 93-94.

Hrmm.. Someone is bound to know.

*Btw,.. lilcelsior -- Did you install that taillight? =)

Anyone have the website that Celsior is mentioning? That list all the differences in UCF 10 and 11?

Cool,.. You HAD to use my tutorial didn't ya? -- Kidding.

Glad it arrived, and looks good. It is used, but I think slightly used makes it match up better with the other -- As brand new could look a little out of place. I polished it briefly with my UDM and scratch-x.. so it should look pretty good. If it looks shinier than your Pass. light -- Get some scratch-x and hand polish all the tailights with a microfiber. Makes a good difference, and doesn't take but about 5 minutes.

But to the question --

Bueller? Bueller? heh.. 90-92 Light = 93-94 Light?

There is only 1 part listed for 1990-1994 LS400's on trademotion (Carson Toyota). I would therefore be inclined to believe that the part did not change from 1990-1994 and that they would interchange.

I agree -- I'm gonna bite the bullet and try it.

Do you think ordering a brand new aftermarket Side marker front light will make the adjacent lights look horrible? Or will it blend ok?

I can't afford to buy ALL new headlights/markers/and fogs. Maybe I'll have to dirty it up a little lol.

It will blend just fine. Symmetry is the key, and since you are replacing both the driver and passenger side lamp, it will blend well.

Hrmm.. I've looked a little more closely, it looks like the mounting might be a little different.

Check this out:

Lexus 90-92 Light:

Part Number: 81610-50021

Thoughts?

Notice the mounting on top.

It could be the angle of the pictures, in that the first one isn't showing the full mount bracket. But the differing part numbers is what has me wondering.

*Also, I am not replacing the Drivers side. Only pass side. I am replacing lights that have cracks or holes in them that are allowing moisture inside.

Not to mention the OEM part numbers are slightly different.

Lexus 93-94 Light:

Part Number: 81620-50040

Checked Carson --

And it has two parts.

It has From 92, and to 92.

Indicating 90-92, and 92-94

When choosing 94 LS 400, it has the From 92 listed, and the To 92 as 'no items were found in this category'.

Would make me believe there are, indeed, two different numbers.

Checking part numbers now.

Here is the link, though it might not work unless you are signed in.

Here is what I found on the part numbers:

oh, i just got one of those from ebay...little bit "chromey-ier" looking on the inside compared to OEM. oem was also more cloudy opposed to more clear on the aftermarket one. also comes with a bulb.

I see -- so it will look odd if I don't do both sides?

It runs about $50 if you include shipping. I might just plug my factory light for now hehe.. $100 is almost a waste for a pea sized hole that can be plugged. I'll take a hair dryer to it then use some silicone or something for interum.

Will replace it eventually , but your right, it does look 'chromy'ier' heh.. Looks better imo, so at minimum need both sides done, and optimally new headlights of the same 'chome'ier' look. But not worth the money -- so might be best to just leave it alone for now.

Thanks omarg. That is the conclusion I basically came to from the research, but is good to have a confirmation!

The 93-94 Lights are more expensive from carson and ebay, go figure =)

*On a side note,.. I polished the lights by hand with some scratch-x .. and it really helps. Scratch-x is good stuff, I've used it more on my lights/plastics than on scratches on the car -- (Use my UDM for those).

I even tried it on a spot of seriously old water etchings on my sunroof.

The previous owner apparently let water etchings embed into the glass. It is glass, so I know it can be removed. -- What would or have you guys used to remove water etchings from glass?

I would imagine the right product and my UDM would make it rather easy.

The scratch-x really didn't work.

Quick Reply: 90-92 vs 93-94 Lights.. question.
