Much more than a Door Ding
Had my car hit in a parking lot the other night.
No note or witnesses. Was amazed at the damage but shocked when I went for an estimate.
I was told that the sheet metal had been pressed into the "incursion beam" in the door & that the entire door would need to be replaced!!
Now that is a kick in the ***!! My uninsured motorist will cover but I am ofcourse out the deductible.

This is no way for my baby to be treated as she passes 200K indicated.

Yea, those intrusion beams are only good first time around. Supposedly, they are to help provide stability during a side collision. In all reality, they just help stabilize the sheet metal of the door.
I imagine you're looking at the $1000-1200 range with all the paint matching and all that.
