More MPG, use Regular; More Power, use Premium
***Regular gasoline has more energy per gallon than Premium gasoline***
With regular gasoline, you will get more miles per gallon.
With premium gasoline, you will get more maximum power and torque because your ecu can call for more ignition timing before predetonation occurs.
The question of which to use will depend on your driving habits. For example, I use my car for commuting and I rarely if ever use full throttle. In this case, one can get better mpg with Regular over Premium.
On the other hand, if you often use full throttle, then you will want to use premium fuel. If you are an agressive driver, you can actually get better miles per gallon using Premium over regular!

Haulin, this topic has been discussed here. Regular gasoline will cause premature detonation and the motor will wear faster over time. They indicate to use premium for a reason.

Funny thing this horse is so dead,
Also their are not results from experimenting to show real world gains or losses . Also the test car is not mentioned for mileage , year , type of driving , oil and all the other variable factors that change mileage.
The biggest factor is what year the car is , as vvti with high compression and 5 gears will need more power/torque to turn at a lower speed to use less fuel.
