sorry for your loss bro hope all goes well.

just to let you know that there is no frame damage just by looking at the pics. i am no expert but someone with a little car knowledge would definitley know this. your whole front end should've been more smashed in for it to have frame damage. all you need is basically a new front end which is hood, lights, grill, bumper, bumper support, radiator and radiator support. you may need a control arm for the front passenger to fix any alignment issues. a little welding here and there is all that it takes to fix the mounts for the fenders. probably shouldnt cost you no more than 2-3k get all the work done. if you know somebody that has a shop you could end up spending less.

It may look bad but I agree that the frame cannot be bent.
I have no doubt it is totaled (when you factor in oem replacement part cost) but the frame is not bent.

Isn't it funny how we are.. So sorry for your car, glad your ok... (tick tick tick).. So can I have (insert needed part) for cheap?

People are ravenous to get a clean LS taken apart. I bet half LS forum would come help you take it apart , might take, oh.. 3-4 minutes total?

No really,.. I am not so sure on the frame damage. Pictures can be deceiving,.. we are totally speculating on the damage of something we cannot see. There can be very minor damage to the frame of the car that would be considered 'ok' and in specification to be deemed 'safe again' after repair. However I am not going to guess as I'm sure you will give us an update as soon as you find anything out.

Am I not right that the insurance company keeps your totaled car if they cut you a check? I don't believe you get to keep the car for parts and the check? Although that would be sweet.

^^^yeah they cut you a check and then they take the car...by looking at the front passenger side, thats probably where they were saying the frame damage was...maybe they thought the bumper reinforcement was the frame lol...

EDDIEJ if you do decide to part the car i want them chrome door mouldings that goes on top of the door caps...thanks

Allright gentlemen! Here is the scoop. I had a buddy(bodyshop buddy) look at the car and tell me if its worth fixing. He flat out said even with the hookup on the wholesale parts, it will cost about $3500 - $4000 total including his labor to fix her up. A part of the frame did get bent, but not to bad, said he could fix it. Here is what I have decided to do. I let the ins. company total it out and the have given me a NICE chunk of change. I will be taking the wheels off saturday and selling them. Before anyone asks, I will post the detailed pics of the wheels. They are NOT bent, just scratched up good. The tires are pretty new with very little tread wear. Also, I will be selling my radio, which has dvd,cd, mp3,gps, and a tv all in one and also the original radio. The rest I am letting the ins people deal with. I have found another ls400, a 98, that I can get with the money the ins. company is giving me. Be raedy on sunday as I will have the pics up with everything I am selling. It will go to the best offer, but I am selling CHEAPPPP!!!!

The insurance company is not paying for the wheels and stereos, so I am selling them!

I would not touch a car with a rebuilt title. You can buy a clean 98 LS4 at the same price but with a little more mileage.

a rebuilt title can be even for a minor thing.. even getting in a small front end collision and the air bags deploy, even with only cosmetic dmg it will get a rebuilt title..or so I've heard. do a carfax on it. Sounds legit to me and it LOOKS AWESOME!!!!! So exciting! a new car!!!

while it's a shame to lose a beautiful 1G, if you can upgrade to a 98 because of it, lucky you!
i also like that color. what's it called?

if it was totaled at 11k in 2000 it must've been quite a wreck. I'd get it inspected but if it checks out, i would offer 6.5 maybe 7.(if its had the 90k and other maintenance). Rebuilt cars are generally worth 60-70% of normal prices.

I dont like the mono white.

The guys says the color is pearl whit and he will not budge from $8500. I offered him $6500 and then up to $7500 and he told me to look elsewhere and that he will get what he wants for it.
