looks like i have another thing to add to my "wish list."
ehhhhh, i like the style of my 1st gen too much to want to spend a ton of money on parts and fabrication for the conversion. just spend the money on air ride and rims
I have'nt been able to find a 2nd Gen lexus in the junkYard or replacement parts online. I would love to order a JDM lexus as a show car and then strip it and put those parts on my wifes lexus !!!! -_-"
I'm subscribing to this one, a conversion was the first thing i thought about when I got my 93 LS. I only paid $1500 for it from a friend so a couple grand in mods seems worth it. hope someone figures it out and does a write up (especially since I might tackle this myself).
I'm saying the AVERAGE Lexus owner isn't going to cut the car in half and put it back together. I think the AVERAGE Lexus owner absolutely loves the vehicle they chose to buy as is.
As for "tuners" sorry I offended you so much. I just think that the AVERAGE "tuner" is a huge embarassment. Their cars, and the way they act.
As for this thread. I'm out. It's pretty sad that you had to get so offended even though I said to go for it if it's what you want to do.
If you have a 92 (UCF10) you cannot use parts from the 98-00 (UCF20).
Like many have mentioned on this thread it can all be done with money.
You will need:
10 to 20 fenders
OEM hood
OEM Lights (all)
OEM Bumper
possibly fabricated brackets
Wiring modifications to support HID if you pick up lights with that option.
So the hardest thing to find will be the fenders. Generally, the price on these conversion is around $5000.00 after all is said and done, including import fees.
i think this is the one that from Socal with supercharge. You can do it but with all the money you gonna put into it. Why not just get a 98+ unless you wanna be different and take on a project. gl
One of the first vip style ls here in the us had said conversion done... and I think It looks quite clean. Id never do it myself as I actually like the older front end.
The 98 is just simply way too big for the 90-94s. Front heavy is a great way tp explain it as Drifter said. ITs not worth the money or effort...you could completely VIP a 98 for the kind of cash it would take to do a standard conversion part by part. And the first White LS has some line issues. The whole front end of the car sits unflush with the car...terrible. BUT the next one is done right and is perfect on every angle.
If I could have an LS400 my way, it would be....98-00 Rear and 95-97 front with all the 98-00 upgrades like the engine and interior. Now that would be a pretty car.
