Default MPG on a 93 LS400 Help!

Just bought a 93 LS400 with 109,000 miles on it. My fuel gauge isn't working and its too expensive to replace right now. So all i'm relying on is my trip odometer or the odometer alone. I have a Van with a V6 and i'm getting approx. 18 MPG. But don't have a clue what the LS400 with a 4.0L V8 gets on highway or city. Can you give me an idea so i will know when to fill up.

How expensive is it to have the fuel gauge repaired? That repair doesn't appear to be optional at this point.

Depends on how your car, IMO. According to general media 18/22 seems to be a figure although I've read 12-13 mpg in city for some folks. So, don't risk it.. or just carry some extra fuel in yer trunk always eh?

Depends so much on how you drive (a light foot for acceleration really helps), as well as what condition your car's in. You can figure it out easily enough, though, by the usual method: fill up your tank, set your trip odometer to 0, drive for a couple hundred miles or so as you normally would, then fill up again and see how many gallons you used. That will be more useful than anything we could tell you.
