tIs there a way to disconnect he power to the antennae?
My antennae makes a wierd noise everytime I switch from CD to radio. It seems like it is not connected to whatever it is that makes it go up and down. Can I disconnect some wiring so that it will stay up at all times? I am not getting very good radio reception due to the fact that the antennae is only like 16-18 inches up, and it never pulls down flush with the LR body panel when the car is off. BTW, how far will the antennae go up if it is functioning normally? And, if I do disconnect any wiring, will I be able to pull up on the antennae so that it is as high as it will go for good radio reception?

If you don't want to to change out the antenna I just unhooked my in the trunk just under the antenna there is some carpet on the fender well just pull it back and unhook the power plugs that go to the motor of the antenna. I just pulled mine up fully and no problems and good radio sounds.

the antenna looks retarded when its stuck up and most likely will get ripped off by some ******* while you're parked
most stations in dallas come in just fine with the antenna down, the only time i have issues are when i'm in tunnels or parking garages.
