Yup the tape connection works the best and is the cheapest with great sound quality.

Sirius2ten..What brand do you have? I have a Sony one and can't get my iphone to play with the tape?

I wish my nak wiring was the same on my 98 , i keep looking at it and the colors do not match up for the wires as well as pins and even the harness plugs are different colors. Then my schematic manual is for a 2000 and it is different but does show the pioneer wiring as listed on the thread.
Oh well i have the relays soldered and ready to go , may even switch out to a JL switcher.

I thought the tape adapters wouldn't work with our cars. I thought I read where the tape player will eject the adapter because it doesn't sense any tension on the tape.

I have a 99 and I hooked up my sirius with an antenna adapter but have thought about doing the relay project so I can connect my sirius and mp3 player that way.

So does anyone have a 99 with the Nak system and using the tape adapter successfully?

i don't have the nak system, but it works great on my 99. i have the stereo/navi and the tape does not eject. i did spend a little extra and bought a more expensive tape adapter though.....i think it was 19.99.

I use a tape adapter but i have to keep using silicone spray inside it or it will bind. Also the tape mechanism is getting finicky , so when it is cold it spits it out. I know the tape is not the problem as it only happens until the inside of the radio is warm and the adapter is well lubed now to have no friction. It is an xm supplied tape adapter.
