I have a 1992 LS 400 that has a check engine light on. I took it to the dealer for diagnosis. they told me that it was the egr vaccum switching valve. I replaced the valve and 3 days later, the light came on again. Has anyone had this problem? I also hear that power steering pump problems are common. Is there anyone with high miles on their LS 400? I have 173,500 on mine.

Need to learn how to pull the trouble code when the check engine light is on. Go to SC400 engine section, read the post by Purplex. In there, the web site will show you how to pull the code. You could also buy the repair manual, the cost of the manual will cover the cost of bring the car back and fort to the dealer once you figure out how to fix the car on your own.
