I am getting a newer lexus. looking at 98-00 due to the niceties of those years compare to the older ones. Came across one with a platinum package, and noticed it did NOT have two tone paint, which i liked a lot. I wonder what else what part of the platinum edition, and what years it was available on.

Is platinum edition the same as a Coach Edition. I saw a Coach Edition being sold locally and it was also monotone.

 

No coach edition was on I am pretty sure just the 1997 LS400 which had "special" coach leather (www.coach.com) and the 98 LS 400 wheels.

 

Need some clearification ........... are we talking about the Platinum Package, Available on the LS 460 and before, or are we talking about the Platinum Edition which was limited to the GS????

 

there was a Platinum Package on the late model '00 LS400, right before the LS430 started to ship.

Coach edition was a whole different series and was ONLY produced in '98.

 

I hate to correct the Almighty Drifter, but the Coach Edition was made in 97 only. The Coach edition was made just to boost sales before the 98 came out, just like the Platinum Edition did for the 2000 model. The only different in those models was the monotone paint job and platinum sticker. Looked much better.
