Default Leaky exhaust throw a DTC?

Can a leaky exahaust throw a diagnostic trouble code? I think I hit the exhaust on a scizzor lift, somewhere in the middle of the vehicle. It sounds a bit like a noisy sports car now! (I've tried to read the OBD2 code but my reader software just doesn't want to connect, still trying there. But the engine light is on.)

I just changed the left hand bank of spark plugs, and they were all a nice dusty brown color, so at least that side of the engine looks fine.

I think I found the problem!

Can someone tell me what part of the exhaust this is called and if its available on its own. Simple to replace? I have done a (little) bit of exhaust work before, but I'm no expert.

itl cost a fortune to have it replaced with an OE part since ur prolly best off replacing the whole exhaust.

id just have a full exhaust fabbbed up for ~$500

can't a muffler shop patch it up for about 100? I've seen it done. a little welding can do wonders.

i would say the same thing except that if u look closely, you can see that the steel tubing itself inside the external casing is rotting and rusted to near nothing.

A buddy of mine mentioned I might use a SS band clamp. Anyone reckon this could work here, maybe with a bit of patching compound too?

take a nail, and lightly tap the steel pipe thats rusted to hell.

if bits start coming off, you need all new piping.
