Default engine feels sluggish

i noticed since i bought my LS400 (59K mile), that when i blip the throttle really quick the rpm's dont go as high as they used to. at idle, a quick blip would raise the rpms as high as 3000 rpms, fast... now its like at 2000-2500rpms... i confirmed my engine feels sluggish cuz today at work a 91 LS400 with about 80k miles came in for a vibration problem, test drove and couldnt find any vibration but thats aside the point. at the stop light, in park i blipped the throttle and the rpms jumped quickly to about 2500-3000rpms, i mean fast... i ripped that LS like there was no tomorrow and it felt strong... after the test drive, i got in my LS and blipped the throttle and it wasnt the same... ripped my LS down the road and it kinda felt the same, there was power there...

so my car was about due for an oil change, thinking the oil was broken down, dirty, and thick causing this sluggish feeling i did an oil change... no difference... check my air filter and looks like it needs to be changed.. am i just trippin'? or what can i do to restore this feeling? i can remember very well that when i first bought my LS and blipped the throttle, the rpms jumped fast, and high....

thanks, all help/advice is greatly appreciated...

Clogged Catalytic Converter, and faulty coil packs are the two most commom problems. Also clean your maf sensor on the intake
